MSV HORTICULTURE CENTER
WINCHESTER, VA

This important new structure marks the entry point to all of the trails to the west of the main parking lot. It was designed to be an iconic building at the edge of parking and pastures. The simple massing is intended to be evocative of the other buildings on the site, as well as a sculptural object. The openings are placed so that visitors to the walking trails can simultaneously see through and inside the pavilion. The iconic roof is metal and the exterior walls are clad in black locust wood siding. The entire interior is painted an intense cobalt blue, making it an uncommon space until it receives an all-encompassing art installation on the floors, walls, and ceiling.
