THE LOUDOUN SCHOOL FOR ADVANCED STUDIES
Formerly located in a tech-flex shell building, the new school building looks to push forward the future of education, offering hands on studios and widely varied learning spaces, including a large “piazza,” flexible classrooms, small group work spaces, and individual study carrels. The pure geometries of the design pays respect to the history of the site, reflecting the forms and dimensions of the historic African-American school house located on the same property. On the interior, a modern aesthetic of exposed structures and polycarbonate walls brings an abundance of light into the halls and classrooms.
